19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a challenging season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.
The player's counter-punching strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour championship, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent saved four initial break points in a close third set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
